After receiving his Bachelor’s in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from Augusta College, now known as Augusta University, Michael went on to earn his Master’s of Business Administration from Brenau University and became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) as well as an enrolled agent for the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

Michael is a member of the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants, the National Association of Tax Professionals, the National Society of Accountants and a past president of the Georgia Association of Accountants and Tax Professionals. For years, Michael was active on the State Regulatory Oversight Committee (SROC) of the National Society of Accountants. This committee analyzes pending federal and state legislation to assess the impact of accounting and tax laws and regulations. In 2009, Michael was named, “Accountant of the Year,” by the Georgia Association of Accountants and Tax Professionals.

Michael is a lifelong resident of Grovetown, GA and has been married for 44 years to his wife, Sandra.  Together they have two children and four grandchildren.  In Michael’s free time he enjoys golf, guitar, and travel.
